Tiger Woods’ Wife Now Seeks $750M in High-Asset Divorce Case

According to a recent report released by New York Daily News on Saturday, Elin Nordegren, the wife of embattled golf star Tiger Woods, is seeking a $750 million settlement in their high-asset divorce case. Furthermore, Nordegren has abandoned her bid for joint child custody and is now seeking sole guardianship of the couple’s children, daughter Sam, 3, and son Charlie, 15 months. This marks a drastic change from a few weeks ago when the couple agreed to work out an international dual-custody agreement for their children.

Woods’ is pushing his soon-to-be ex-wife to sign a lifetime confidentiality agreement that would prevent her from writing a book or talking to the media about his private “affairs.” Thus far, she has rejected this agreement.

According to Daily News, the couple’s negotiations toward a divorce settlement agreement have been “extremely testy” and the two of them have not spoken to each other in a great while. Woods and Nordegren were engaged in 2003 and later married in October 2004. If Nordegren gets what she wants, this would make their divorce the most expensive celebrity split since Mel Gibson paid his ex-wife nearly $600 million in their divorce settlement.

Since last Thanksgiving, more than a dozen women have claimed to have had an affair with Woods.

Woods plans to return to the PGA Tour next month to play in the U.S. Open in California.
